Life Devotions

It's hard to feel encouraged all the time. In fact, it's next to impossible, especially in today's crazy world. There are numerous daily occurrences in our lives which dissuade and discourage us from being encouraged. But Christ once reminded His followers: John 16:33 ~ I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” (ESV) When I am overcome in my grief, my hardship, my despair, my longing, my pain, my need, my struggle, my heartache, my disappointment, my shock, my sorrow, my embarrassment, my guilt and my shame, I need look no further than these wondrous words and Christ's Divine declaration. "But take heart; I have overcome the world." We are all, most likely, carrying something which hinders or burdens us deeply today. To suggest we can simply or effortlessly release this load is certainly unrealistic. Life is not always this easy. We can, however, find encouragement in the fact that, though we struggle momentarily, Christ has eternally resolved our plight when we give it, and ourselves, to Him. Who will rule your day and direct your way today? Your PROBLEM? Or your PROVIDER? Remember in your trial to whom you belong. When our determination combines with Christ's justification, mountains tend to crumble, Giants tend to fall and shackles tend to loose. Break out of your bondage and celebrate the ultimate destiny of your circumstance. It's outcome has been overcome. This, my friend, is reason to be encouraged, and impetus enough to BE blessed. © Dale Golden
